Cheshire-based healthtech firm has been acquired by Clanwilliam Group
Medisec Software, the healthtech firm which provides digitisation services to the NHS, has been acquired by the Clanwilliam Group.
The deal, which is for an undisclosed amount, sees the Cheshire-based software firm become part of the the healthcare technology and services group in what is Clanwilliam’s 13th healthtech acquisition in just three years.
Founded in 1992, Medisec has worked with NHS organisations to help them digitise their clinical correspondence and dictation, and currently works with the likes of Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, Alder Hey Children’s NHS Foundation Trust and City Hospitals Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust, in partnerships where it handles over 5m documents a year.
The acquisition will help to unlock further growth for the Tarporley business with the potential of expansion into more parts of the UK and product development support from Clanwilliam’s ‘expansive’ network.
Ceri Rothwell, managing director at Medisec Software, said: “This is a tremendous opportunity to expand and improve the ways we support the NHS, at a crucial time of digital transformation in the health service.
“Joining Clanwilliam Group will allow Medisec to access a huge wealth of experience, technical expertise and resource as we work alongside other health technology providers in the group, exploring integration and collaboration opportunities.
“At the same time we will retain our distinct leadership, our experienced teams and the trusted brand that Medisec customers rely on.”
Howard Beggs, chief executive of Clanwilliam Group added: “Clanwilliam Group’s growth strategy across the UK is to actively develop a group of highly synergistic healthcare technology and services businesses.
“We back leadership, and select companies who are already driving innovation in the healthcare industry and which, with the right support, have the potential to transform the healthcare landscape even further.”
