Opening date unveiled for brand new IKEA in Sheffield
Furniture retail giant IKEA has announced that the official opening date of its brand new store in Sheffield.
As reported by the BBC, IKEA’s 35,000 sq.m store will open to the public at 10am on Thursday, 28th September.
380 of the new jobs have been created at the store, located on Tinsley Road, whereas an additional 100 roles are also available at a call centre in the city.
Garry Deakin, store manager at IKEA Sheffield, said: “We know that anticipation for IKEA’s arrival in Sheffield has been high and we are incredibly excited to be opening our doors to this wonderful city.
“I am particularly looking forward to working with all our new co-workers, and introducing them to our diverse and welcoming culture.”
The new store, built on the old Tinsley Wire site near Meadowhall, features a crèche, restaurant, bistro and car park with 1,380 free spaces.
