The White Company is moving its London HQ to a rather fitting area

Furniture and fashion brand The White Company has agreed terms with Stanhope, entrepreneurial developers, to move its head office to a new building in London.

The new office will be located at 2 Television Centre at the former BBC HQ in White City, West London, where the company will lease 32,000 sq-ft of office space.

The space will include an outside terrace for its 350 staff and plans to move from its current Kensington High Street base to the new property in February 2018. Sources have said BBC Worldwide already has its headquarters sorted in the adjacent building, 1 Television Centre.

Mary Homer, CEO of The White Company, said: “We are delighted to confirm our head office move to this vibrant destination [which] is a significant milestone for the company as we enter our next phase of growth and develop our business internationally.”

The company was founded by Chrissie Rucker MBE as a mail order business 22 years ago. Having grown into an international retailer with annual sales of £184m with 56 UK stores, The White Company also has a successful e-commerce platform.

In June 2017, it also opened its New York flagship store at 155 Fifth Avenue, with plans to expand further into America with its second US store scheduled to open in New Jersey this November.

The chief executive of Stanhope, David Camp, said: “With The White Company moving its head office to join BBC, ITV and other major brands like the Royal College of Art, this confirms White City as a destination of choice for some of the most vibrant businesses.”

A new rooftop pool, Soho House club, and bar will feature on the top of 2 Television Centre, with access to a gym and boutique hotel along with 950 new homes designed by Stirling Prize architects, AHMM.

The White Company’s staff will also have access to a number of restaurants including Bluebird Cafe, Homeslice - the pizza brand started by Sir Terry Wogan’s sons - and Patty & Bun.
