Former 2* Michelin chef James Cochran opens new London restaurant
On behalf of popular chef, James Cochran, CBRE Global Investors has announced today (August 15) his new restaurant has opened on Friday August 11 at Angel Central shopping mall, Islington.
The restaurant, spanning 2,111 sq-ft, has approximately 60 covers inside and 20 covers on the terrace space., along with a cocktail and wine bar as well as a DJ booth for evening entertainment.
Named James Cochran N1, the eatery even features an open-plan kitchen which allows diners to see the famous chef cook his signature dishes including the popular meal of Caribbean jerk chicken.
Matthew Barratt, associate at CBRE Global Investors, commented on the opening: “James Cochran is a fantastic addition to Angel Central, further strengthening the diverse and exciting dining offer.
“It’s a major coup that the centre is now home to the popular chef’s second location and first in North London.”
Angel Central itself spans 150,000 sq-ft and benefits from an annual intake of 10m visitors, ranking in the top 10 of London Retail Destinations - according to CACI’s Retail Footprint 2016.
With the shopping mall recently completing a refurbishment of its Oasis store, as well as being the home to H&M, French Connection and Gap stores, it is a promising location to open the restaurant.
Additionally, O2 Academy Islington and Vue’s 10-screen cinema lends to the area’s leisure, complemented by various restaurants including Wagamama and Gourmet Burger Kitchen.
The new restaurant’s founder, James Cochran, said: “The response to our launch has been fantastic and we are thrilled to open James Cochran N1 at one of North London’s most notable retail and leisure destinations.”
BNP Paribas and CBRE represented Angel Central with James Cochran dealing directly.
