Rochdale entrepreneurs have opened the largest nursery furniture showroom in the UK
The entrepreneurial pair behind Adorable Tots, the nursery furniture retailer which counts Premier League footballers and reality TV star Amy Childs amongst its fans, have opened a new outlet in the heart of Rochdale that they are touting as the largest nursery furniture showroom in the UK.
Conrad and Victoria Parrott have spent more than £200k transforming a three-storey, 14,000 sq ft property that was formerly an old cotton mill in the heart of Rochdale into a new showroom teeming with children’s furniture, prams, cots and high chairs.
The pair set up the business seven years ago after realising there were a dearth of children’s furniture retailers operating at the higher end of the market, with early online success a prelude to a move to real world premises at Hope Mill in Manchester.
Co-founder Victoria said that the new space was ideally situated to draw in customers from the locality and further afield.
She commented: “We’ve created a real destination store here in Rochdale. It’s got everything we need; lots of space, real character and parking. As soon as we saw this place, we knew it was right.
“Rochdale’s motorway links are also invaluable to us because our customers come from far and wide. We’ve had shoppers here from London, Scotland and the Midlands.”
Conrad added that the move could help to facilitate future growth at the brand with plans to potentially double the size of its five-strong team.
The Adorable Tots founders also credited the support provided by Rochdale’s Business Growth Hub, whose dedicated advisor, RIchard Perkins, as on hand to provide advice and support its growth.
Commenting on the local success story, Council Leader, Councillor Richard Farnell, said: “Adorable Tots may supply goods for small people, but they’ve got big ambitions.
“I’m proud that Conrad and Victoria have decided that Rochdale is the place they want to base their business as they embark on this next exciting chapter.
“They already supply one of the country’s biggest department stores and have a list of celebrity clients, so I can’t wait to see where they go from here.”
