Chase Park Festival announces headline sponsor

Chase Park Festival, dubbed of the nation’s most accessible outdoor live music events for people with a disability, has confirmed UK specialist care provider Voyage Care as its headline sponsor.

Taking place on Saturday 26th August at the new location of Saltwell Park, Gateshead, festival organiser Alistair McDonald has said the sponsorship will help make it a five-star experience for disabled music fans and musicians, who will be performing on the site’s second stage.

He said: “Chase Park Festival relies on like minded partners to sponsor the event to help with the additional costs which come with making the festival one of the most accessible and inclusive events in the UK.

“The partnership means that we were able to bring on board performance BSL translators, invest in new trackways around the park to enable wheel chair users to get round and to ensure we have a “changing places” standard toilet on site. Without Voyage Care, we simply would not be as accessible as we want to be.

“Having organisations like Voyage Care being on board enable us to give disabled festival goers the opportunity to enjoy a great day out. I think that a major national player like Voyage really shows that Chase Park is starting to become a major event.”

Voyage Care, based in Lichfield, Staffordshire, is nationally renowned as being leading specialists in providing people with disabilities the opportunity to live active and fulfilling lives.

It provides support for thousands of people with learning and physical disabilities, acquired brain injuries, autism and other needs across the UK and offers person-centred care and support.

According to Alistair, the company was the first organisation the Chase Park team approached for sponsorship and both parties believe the special relationship they now have between them will be a positive and far reaching one for all concerned.

Voyage Care Chief Operating Officer, Jayne Davey, added: “We have chosen to sponsor the festival because it looks like a fantastic event and the spirit of it fits perfectly with our values.

“We believe everyone has the right to live the life they choose and get involved in the things they enjoy doing. We use music very successfully as part of our therapies as a way of expressing emotions, talking about feelings and exploring experiences.

“Chase Park Festival is all about bringing people together. It’s is going to be an amazing day of live music and everyone should go along and enjoy themselves.”
