Holly Hedge charity receives a ‘pawsome’ cash boost

A Bristol animal charity is celebrating a cash boost thanks to local housebuilder Barratt Homes.

Holly Hedge Animal Sanctuary was one of Barratt Bristol’s charities of the year with staff taking part in a number of fundraising activities such as the Bristol 10k and volunteering at the charity too.

They raised a total of £9,950 with the final £8,470 recently handed over to the charity.

Barratt Bristol managing director Russell Glimstead said the charity has been one of those chosen by the staff and the support throughout the last 12 months had been tremendous.

“Our staff have laced up their trainers and gone the extra mile to fundraise for Holly Hedge Animal Sanctuary and we’re very proud of everyone involved,” he said.

“Pets are such an important part of the household. This donation will help to support the sanctuary as it acts as a temporary home for the animals that haven’t been as lucky as others.” he added.

Hannah Wozniak from Holly Hedge said that support from companies such as Barratt Homes makes a real difference to the charity.

“We are so thankful to Barratt Homes for choosing to support Holly Hedge as its Charity of the Year. The amount raised was phenomenal and will enable us to do so much to enrich the lives of the animals in our care. On behalf of everyone at Holly Hedge (two legged and four) I would like to say a huge heartfelt thanks!”

The independent charity which rehomes over 800 unwanted cats, dogs and other pets wants to provide better facilities and add an extra five kennels. Donations like this one will allow the centre to take in more deserving cases and improve conditions for the animals.
