Sally's Cottages Partners with Global Publishing Company
Local holiday cottage letting company, Sally’s Cottages, has joined forces with Penguin Books to promote reading and to celebrate the Lake District’s literary heritage.
The two companies have teamed up for a giveaway, offering one lucky winner a bundle of books set in and around the Lake District as well as a short stay in North Mill, one of the holiday cottages let by Sally’s Cottages.
“We’re always working to promote the best of the Lake District and so we’re thrilled to be celebrating its rich literary heritage with Penguin,” comments Sally Fielding, the owner of Sally’s Cottages. “There’s nothing better than getting away from everyday life and relaxing with a book in a beautiful area.”
Sally’s Cottages, which 13 years ago began with just 1 cottage and £1,000 in the bank, now lets out over 440 holiday cottages in the Lake District and surrounding area. Over the school holidays, the company has seen a staggering 94% rate of occupancy.
“We’ve had such a fantastic year so far,” comments Sally, “and we wanted to give back to our customers and followers. We hold a giveaway every month, but being approached by Penguin was a way to give something a little extra.”
Penguin first began publishing in 1915 and partnered with Random House in 2013 to create the world’s first truly global book publishing company. It now publishes a diverse range of books worldwide and is instantly recognizable by its penguin logo.
Claire Davis, Senior Digital Marketing Executive at Penguin, comments, “Curling up with a great book in a cosy cottage is every book lover’s dream, and Sally’s Cottages certainly delivered with the giveaway of a weekend at North Mill Cottage. We’re thrilled to be able to offer one lucky reader the chance to stay there, with an armful of Lake District-themed books in tow.”
Giveaway entries are open until midnight on the 29th August. Visit the Sally’s Cottages website for more information on how to enter.
