Administrators seek buyer for struggling MediaCityUK-based data centre business
Administrators have moved in on a struggling data centre and cloud storage business in Salford.
Anthony Collier and Geoff Rowley, partners at FRP Advisory, are seeking a buyer for MediaCityUK-based DataCentred.
The firm will continue to trade in the meantime, retaining its 15-strong workforce as restructuring options are explored.
Founded four years ago, DataCentred operates both a physical data centre and cloud business, providing software-defined and cloud-native infrastructure services.
Although the firm has built up a “significant network of clients” according to Mr Collier, it continued to make a loss and is not currently viable.
The joint administrators are engaging with parties interested in DataCentred and its assets, but said they will continue evaluating the business’ financial position in the interests of creditors.
Mr Collier said: “Over its four year trading history, DataCentred has earned a well-deserved reputation for its expertise and has supported a significant network of clients.
“We are marketing the business and assets for sale and we encourage any interested parties to make early contact.”
