Contractor appointed to deliver £4m mushroom growing factory in East Yorkshire
Harris CM, the Wakefield-based construction firm, has won a contract to design and build a new £4m growing facility by Hughes, a mushroom processing business from Northern Ireland.
The new facility will be located on an 11-acre site at Garrick Farm near Howden in East Yorkshire.
Work on the project will also include new offices and a board room, and the first facility on the site is set to be operational by next month. 70 new jobs are being created initially and a further 30 employed by the end of the year.
Founded in 1964, Hughes is is based in Co. Tyrone in Northern Ireland.
