£2m boost for growing Wirral tech business Evoke Creative
Merseyside technology company Evoke Creative is strengthening its position among blue-chip clients with a new multi-million pound finance package.
The firm will use the £2m funding, provided by HSBC, to purchase higher volumes of components for the interactive digital kiosks it designs and manufactures for the retail, leisure and hospitality sectors.
From its headquarters in Bromborough, Evoke has previously worked with businesses such as search giant Google, fast food brand McDonald’s, retailer Tesco and cinema operator Vue.
Evoke, which employs a 60-strong workforce, reported 40% growth over the last four years.
The company’s tailor-made kiosks and digital signage have been exported to customers in more than 40 countries, but as part of its expansion plans, Evoke intends to increase its foothold in the US market.
Dave Derby, managing director at Evoke, said: “One of the reasons we chose to work with HSBC on this deal is because of the bank’s strong business network in the States.
“It is a market we are keen to break into and we believe that with this funding, combined with HSBC’s local business knowledge, we will be able to realise this goal much sooner.”
He continued: “The funding also gives us flexibility. If we are to continue servicing our current client base, meeting high volume demands, we need the capital to be able buy components and man power up front in order to keep our capacity and order turnover efficient. This also puts us in an advantageous position in terms of reaching new clients too.”
HSBC’s area director of Liverpool & Cheshire, Barry Millar, commented: “Evoke Creative has a proven track record of strategic growth and we are excited to see how the company implements this funding to continue its ambitious objectives both here in the UK and overseas.
“We are delighted to be able to support dynamic, creative businesses like Evoke Creative in the North West through our SME commercial funding scheme.”
