Construction Boss Builds Luxury Links with Norfolk

A Derbyshire building firm has almost completed a housing development in Norfolk, and it is hoped that it will be the first of many.

Ian Hodgkinson, director of Hodgkinson Builders, brought his team to Fakenham to work on the Chapel Mews, a luxury three-bed housing development on Norwich Road.

Ian, who is on a mission to get more young people into the construction trade, has two of his own apprentices working on the site, which will give the trainees real-life on site experience away from the classroom.

Ian said: “This is our first initial small development in Norfolk with a view to investing more into the area, developing disused spaces and investing in community projects.

“Norfolk is close to my heart as I used to come here on my holidays with my mum and dad when I was young. I feel at home.”

Viewings of the luxury development will be open from early autumn with prices starting from £259,000. The houses are finished to a very high specification with fully fitted kitchens, en-suite bedrooms, gardens, driveways, sash windows and underfloor heating downstairs.

Daniel Money, area, land and new homes manager at Sowerbys, the agent selling the homes, said: “The development is in a great location in a thriving market town, ten miles from the north Norfolk coast, with links to Norwich, Kings Lynne and London.

“The properties are nice looking and have been built in a Victorian style in keeping with the houses in that area”.

The project, which will also see Hodgkinson Build sponsor Wells Town Football Club, is one of the first developments outside of the Midlands for the building firm.
