Hartlepool’s Stadium Group snaps up Berkshire company for £2.8m
Hartlepool tech firm Stadium Group has acquired industrial power supplier PowerPax UK Ltd for £2.8m.
Supplier of design-led technologies, Stadium Group specialises in connectivity solutions, power supplies, human machine interface products and electronic assemblies.
PowerPax becomes the fifth value-adding technology business to link up with Stadium in the last five years, and strengthens the business’ Power Division through the addition of complementary products and customers.
Based in Theale, Berkshire, within six miles of the Stadium Stontronics Reading site, PowerPax is a specialist value-added manufacturer and distributor of a wide range of power supplies, battery chargers and LED products, including AC-DC switch mode power supply units and DC-DC converters.
For the year ended 31 August 2016, PowerPax recorded sales of £3.3m and profit before interest and tax of £0.4m.
Charlie Peppiatt, Chief Executive Officer of Stadium Group plc, believes the acquisition augments Stadium’s design-led technology strategy and brings about cross-selling opportunities.
He said: “PowerPax is an excellent synergistic fit for Stadium’s Power Division; fully aligned with our growth plans for design-led technology products and ideally placed to seamlessly integrate its highly complementary product line into Stadium Stontronics.”
Peppiatt added: “We expect to see the full financial benefits of this Acquisition from 2018 onwards.”
