Saracen completes its work on a major heritage site in Mayfair, London
Saracen Interiors, a workplace consultant, has completed a 6,000 sq-ft fast-track repair and refurbishment project for global educational charity, English Speaking Union (ESU) in Mayfair.
Situated just off Berkeley Square, work was undertaken on the ground floor and basement library library to fix the damage caused by a leak, so the team ensured that all refurbishments met the highest of standards and quality of the current fitting of this Grade 2 listed building.
The director of Saracen Interiors, Michael Page, commented: “Taking on any work in a building that has heritage status always requires thought and attention as well as skill, as there is an onus on respecting and preserving the original design work.
“We had to be particularly meticulous, especially when we worked on the ceiling area, as we wanted to make sure that the detailed edging was perfect.”
The project has taken just under five weeks to finish and was completed during office hours due to the need of tenants to resume their full occupancy immediately.
Page continued: “Projects like these usually require some time however we knew that ESU didn’t have this luxury… A key part of our role is to accommodate and support our clients and this project involved a certain amount of noise awareness, consideration and communication.
“Turnaround time was, therefore, a priority in order to ensure a speedy delivery.”
In the past 10 years, Saracen has built a strong reputation with clients in London, with a supposed track record in improving workplace efficiency and corporate standing with its tailor-made solutions.
The house manager of the ESU, Janet Russ, added: “We were delighted to appoint Saracen as we were confident that the turnaround times would be excellent and the service equally outstanding.
“The team were incredibly professional and reassuring, sensitive to both our needs as a working charitable institution and the design of the building itself.”
