Christopher Ward launches competition for grass-roots motorsport racers

Premium watch brand, Christopher Ward, is delighted to announce that on Friday 1st September they launched the Need for Speed competition. This unique six-week competition will offer a platform for UK-based grass-roots level¹ motorbike or car racing drivers to pitch for a place on the brand’s Challenger Programme. Entrants should possess genuine world-class talent, but be in need of a helping hand to fulfil their full potential.

The Challenger Programme provides sports men and women with additional funding and support to help them with their training to reach their true potential and ambitions. The winner of the Need for Speed competition will receive a place on the programme for two years, benefitting from financial backing, PR support and a watch allowance.

The Need for Speed competition is being launched in celebration of Christopher Ward’s new C7 Rapide motorsport collection and will run for six weeks to reflect the six watches in the range.

Co-Founder of Christopher Ward, Mike France, said:

“The motorsport industry – with its principles of cutting-edge technology, beautiful design and powerful performance - have always gone hand-in-hand with Christopher Ward’s vision and values. We wanted to celebrate the launch of our latest C7 Rapide Collection, and do so in a way that acknowledges the grass-roots motorsport talent in the UK.

Since its introduction in 2013, the Christopher Ward Challenger Programme has worked to provide support for budding grass-root sports men and women, with genuine world-class potential but limited resources, to help them reach their sporting goals. Current and previous Challengers have included world-record holder Team GB Paralympian Sammi Kinghorn,

Olympic Gold Medallist Will Satch, Olympic semi-finalist Team GB skeet shooter Amber Hill, explorer and ultra marathon runner Jamie Maddison and inspirational adventurers ‘Team Horsepower’ who have climbed some of the most challenging mountain peaks in central Asia.

Entrants for the Need for Speed competition are invited to apply via the Christopher Ward website between 31st August – 12th October inclusive, and will be asked to provide short answers to four questions, which will then be reviewed by the three co-founders of Christopher Ward. A winner will be announced on 31st October 2017.

*To enter the competition, please visit the Christopher Ward website and fill out the application form. *
