Loganair exits Flybe deal to expand Glasgow services at Manchester Airport

Scottish airline Loganair is expanding its services at Manchester Airport.

The carrier has confirmed plans to ramp up the frequency of its flights between Manchester and Glasgow by 50%

Loganair has operated the service for the last eight years under a franchise agreement with UK airline Flybe, but terminated the deal last week to move forward independently.

The company will now offer up to six services a day on the route. The inaugural flight, operated via a tartan-tailed Saab-340 aircraft branded Scotland’s Airline, will take off from Manchester this Friday (September 8) at 08.40.

Loganair’s commercial director, Kay Ryan, said: “A lot of passengers might not have been aware of the Loganair brand as we flew under our previous franchise partner’s colours but the quality of service was wholly down to the hard work of our team.

“It’ll be the same aircraft, pilots and crew which will be expanding the number of flights available to passengers.”

She continued: “We’ve got an extremely competitive offering compared to other carriers including flexible fares, complimentary baggage allowance and exemption from credit-card booking fees.

“We are extremely grateful to our customers for the tremendous support they are affording us, which is translating into very strong advance bookings.”

In addition to the Glasgow services, Loganair will provide flights to Norwich from Manchester. This route was also run under the Flybe franchise agreement.
