From October, Lunya will be based on the corner of College Lane and Hanover Street

Spanish deli Lunya to create 10 jobs at new Liverpool ONE eatery

Catalunyan restaurant bar and deli Lunya is creating jobs with a move to a new location in Liverpool ONE.

The family-owned eatery will invest £150k in a unit on the corner of College Lane and Hanover Street, where it will create 10 jobs to bring its Liverpool workforce to 55.

Lunya’s new 5,500 sq ft base, opposite BBC Radio Merseyside, will give it more dining, bar and deli space.

The move will take place in early October, when Lunya will close down overnight to open in the new unit the next day.

Elaine Kinsella, who co-founded the business alongside husband Peter, said: “Although we and our customers love our existing site in Liverpool ONE, an opportunity arose with a new location offering all the extra space and facilities that was just too good to miss.

“We’re confident all of our many loyal customers will love it.”

The move forms part of an expansion plan from Lunya that included securing new warehouse space for its wider North West operation.

Alison Clegg, director of asset management at Liverpool ONE owner Grosvenor Europe, commented: “Lunya is a great success story and we are delighted to be accommodating their growth.

“We have worked very closely with Peter and his team over the years, always focused on ensuring they thrive.”

She added: “It is very satisfying to see the business outgrowing its current home and expanding into another great location within Liverpool ONE.”

Lunya dealt direct, while Liverpool ONE was represented by Metis Real Estate and Cushman and Wakefield.
