York city centre scheme fully let as architecture firm and dental supplier strike new deals
A mixed use scheme on Micklegate in York city centre is now fully occupied after an architecture practice and a specialist dental legal firm let all of the remaining space within the development.
The Manser Practice has taken 1,430 sq ft of space at 106 Micklegate on a 10 year lease. The company provides architecture services on projects ranging from hotels and hospitals to ferry terminals and residential schemes.
It currently employs a 40-strong team across its York and London offices.
In addition, PFM Dental Legal has let 945 sq ft on a five year lease. The company, which launched last year, offers legal services to dentists with a particular focus on the sale and purchase of dental practices.
These latest deals follow Gulp & Graze opening on the ground floor of 106 Micklegate last summer.
The whole development, which is owned by Leeds based property company Rushbond Plc, was marketed by York-based property consultancy Lawrence Hannah.
Richard Baker from Rushbond said: “York is home to a thriving business community and a strong economy, so there is currently plenty of demand for high quality office space in the City centre.
“Micklegate has always been one of York’s finest gateway streets and has enjoyed a major renaissance in recent years, which 106 Micklegate is at the heart of.
“Both PFM Dental Legal and The Manser Practice are long-established businesses and we’re delighted to be able to facilitate their expansion into this stand out development.”
Guy Barlow, director at The Manser Practice, added: “There’s no doubt York offers a fantastic work-life balance and expanding into Micklegate means we have the room to continue building our team over the coming months and years.
“Micklegate is enjoying a period of change at the moment with a number of independent and unique shops and eateries appearing, which makes it a great location and especially when you consider it’s only a five minute walk from York Railway Station.”
Stephen Knowles, director at PFM Dental Legal, commented: “Relocating to Micklegate is a natural progression as PFM Dental Legal continues growing, but its proximity to Skeldergate means we can continue to work closely with our colleagues at PFM Dental.
“The building also offers a modern office environment, in a central location, close to great road and rail links, which made it an ideal location for us.”
