A new mobile location business launches today with successful £3.1m fund

A new mobile location data and intelligence business, Location Sciences, has launched today (September 11) following a successful £3.1m funding from its parent company.

The company intends to use a huge range of precise location data to help businesses understand customers and products.

Location Sciences, listed under the AIM-listed Proxama Group, combines first-party mobile location, derived from ultra-precise GPS technology combined with the largest network of Bluetooth in the UK beacons to map data far more accurately than those previous.

Mark Slade, who joins the company as managing director, said: “Through our continuously scaling location audience supply, Location Sciences is setting new standards in data quality and an unrivalled approach to location intelligence.

“Unlike standard ‘snapshot’ data, our location information can provide more consistent insight into [a] brand’s customers to better target them for future campaigns.

“The successful £3.1m funding demonstrates our commitment to the market and ability to improve these insights via machine learning and consumer reach which will optimise value for our customers.”

Location Sciences’ will be able to create valuable location information and insights through its machine learning technology, gaining insights for out-of-home media owners, agencies and brands.
