Kids Collective to Franchise the Out of School Club business

Kids Collective, the Hale-based providers of out of school care are franchising the business after spotting a nationwide gap in the market for high-quality wrap around care for working parents.

Part of The Elmscot Group of day nurseries and nursery schools, the award-winning business provides breakfast, after-school and holiday club services to families whose children attend eight primary and preparatory schools across South Manchester and Cheshire. With the continued success of Kids Collective and growing demand for its services, the team feel that now is the right time to explore franchising. Business partners, Stephanie Molnar and Dee McKenzie set up The Elmscot Group in 2001 when they were struggling to find a homely nursery setting for their own children. Sixteen years on they have a staff of over 190 and are responsible for the care and early years education of more than 1600 local children. The partners launched Kids Collective in 2003 which has a turnover of £900,000 and 43 staff.

“We’re the leaders of out of school care across South Manchester and Cheshire and we want to be able to provide our award-winning, highly-regarded and trusted service across the UK to other parents who need quality wrap-around care, and the best way to do that is via franchise. We have developed a business model that is proven to be very successful,” explains Molnar.

Franchises currently start from £7000* and franchisees can expect to earn up to £26,000 operating profit in their first year.

Kirsty Jackson joined the Kids Collective team in January 2017 as group development manager and will focus on growing the franchise business. With a background in successfully managing nurseries internationally and 13 years working in early years education, Jackson is excited about looking for the most suitable and dedicated franchisees to kick-start the next phase in the Kids Collective business.

“We’ve got an extremely strong offering and all future franchisees will have the support of a friendly, hard-working and very dedicated team. They will also have the tools and autonomy to grow a profitable and fulfilling business. The Kids Collective team has worked tirelessly to develop the brand and the service into what it is today; a committed and caring business offering unrivalled out of school care and holiday clubs to working families. We’re looking for the highest calibre of franchisees who will ideally have a qualification in childcare; a passion for working with children aged 3-11 years; and great business acumen. The business model offers terrific flexibility and potential for a great work-life balance, which is something we’re all striving for these days.” said Jackson.

“The business has been tried and tested for over 14 years and has all the core ingredients for a great franchise system. We’re really excited to watch the Kids Collective franchise grow over the next few years and I have every confidence that Kirsty is the person to drive the business forward,” concludes Molnar.

A Kids Collective Franchise currently starts from £7000* rising to £13,250 after the initial launch promotion. (*exclusive of VAT)
