Taxi! Ticketmedia Launches New ad Format

Ticketmedia – the leading provider of advertising on transport tickets and till roll receipts in the UK – has signed a landmark deal with Verifone Media to launch a new format.

Adding to its existing portfolio, Ticketmedia is launching a new taxi receipt format in London, with a single campaign able to reach an audience of up to 1.5 million. As a result of a new mandate introduced in January 2017, card payment systems have been installed and are on display in the rear passenger sections of all black cabs in London.

With Verifone Media supplying card machines to more than 10,000 taxis in London, Ticketmedia can now offer advertisers a range of packages to advertise on the back of taxi card payment receipts.

With nearly four million people recalling having seen taxi advertising in the last week alone, the opportunity will bolster its offering to a London audience. Ticketmedia will engage with audiences on the move and with 81% of people saying they always take a receipt, this will deliver the business strong growth over the next year.

Working with a broad range of sectors, Ticketmedia’s new format will enable clients to communicate with a mixed audience. With 54% of taxi users having travelled in the last 12 months (source: TGI 2016Q2), there are sectors like travel that are ripe to benefit from this new format. Across London, this will open up a new audience for entertainment providers. Taxi passengers are 129% more likely than the average person to go to the theatre once a month or more frequently (source: TGI 2016 Q2).
