School opportunities at The Blackpool Tower

The Blackpool Tower has unveiled its extended schools programme for the academic year 2017/18.

Starting from September, The Blackpool Tower is offering primary and secondary school students and teachers an interactive learning experience not typically found in the classroom.

For primary school pupils, The Blackpool Tower has an extensive list of one hour educational lessons to choose from.

They cover a wide range of subjects in a fun and entertaining way, designed to interest and stimulate a child’s learning. These include comparing towers from around the world, building LEGO towers, evolution of Tourism in Blackpool, the War of The Roses and Circus and clowns throughout the ages.

Every lesson is taught by a qualified professional in one of The Blackpool Tower’s onsite classrooms.

The Blackpool Tower’s education programme is linked directly to the National Curriculum and is suitable for years one and above.

Secondary schools can also benefit from a visit to The Blackpool Tower. Drama students can spend up to six weeks with the team behind the popular Blackpool Tower Dungeon, learning how to become of one the actors that make it a success.

The Blackpool Tower Dungeon Acting Academy gives students a unique opportunity to have one-to-one performance training with seasoned entertainers. At the end of the workshop, pupils will be given the chance to perform in front of friends and family.

This experience is appropriate for pupils in year nine and above.

To celebrate the start of the academic year, The Blackpool Tower is currently offering discounted rates to schools wishing to visit this year.

Primary schools that book before the 30th September will receive a Blackpool Tower Dungeon lesson (four to choose from) OR a ticket to The Blackpool Tower Circus Winter Pantomime for just £5, a saving of 10%.

Schools can get Dungeon drama lessons half price (£35 – normally £70). Schools must book before the end of September and visit before 31st December 2017.
