Sustainability business to expand workforce with £100k investment from UK Steel Enterprise
UK Steel Enterprise (UKSE) has awarded a £100k investment to a North Lincolnshire-based sustainability business to help increase its workforce and broaden its services.
Flixborough Eco Technologies Ltd - which is the only firm in North Lincolnshire with Carbon Trust accreditation for the installation of heat pumps, LED lighting and Solar PV - secured the UKSE investment earlier this year, awarded to assist with job creation and training.
The investment will be used to develop a network of sustainability professionals at the company, the purchase of additional hard and software, and marketing support to support the ongoing growth for the business.
Established in 2012, Flixborough Eco Tech Ltd is headed up by Giles Barker, a construction and sustainability professional, working alongside Stuart Turner, who joined the business as technical director in 2014 and customer relationship manager, Sheralee Thompson.
The funding from Sheffield-based UKSE has allowed for the appointment of office manager Jolene Law, bringing new skills to the business.
Giles Barker, managing director of the company, said: “The funding has been vital to our continued growth and expansion, and has really helped us to drive the business forward as we continue to increase our regional and national scope.
“It is of key importance to us as a business to invest in the North Lincolnshire region, and with the funding provided by UKSE we have been able to invest in a local subcontract network of sustainability professionals, vital to our expansion and allowing us to meet the continued demand from clientele in the area.”
Alan Stanley from UKSE added: “Giles has built Flixborough Eco Technologies Ltd up from a start up to a rapidly expanding business with numerous corporate clients in less than five years, and we are delighted to have provided this investment to assist with further growth and job creation in the Scunthorpe and North Lincolnshire area.”
