Broad Chare Partners

Newcastle-based wealth management firm Broad Chare Partners has appointed Christopher Straker as financial planner and Lois Prest as marketing executive.

Established in 2006, the company specialises in delivering face-to-face wealth management advice to individuals, trustees and businesses. Services range from and include protection, investment and inheritance tax planning, profit extraction and succession planning.

Chris will be responsible for advising individuals and businesses on their financial planning. This will cover a range of specialisms including: retirement planning, investment planning and cash management.

Chris has previously worked at Northern Rock and Leeds Building Society, is a member of The Chartered Insurance Institute and the North-East Chamber of Commerce. Holding a BA Hons Business Management, Certificate in Mortgage Advice and Practice, and a Diploma in Financial Advice, Chris has an extensive breadth and depth of experience as a financial planner.

Lois, who graduated from Newcastle University with a BA Hons Media, Communication and Cultural Studies has completed an online marketing internship and has also held roles such as media communications assistant and social media marketing manager. She has experience in search engine optimisation, Google Analytics, event organisation and content writing.

She will be responsible for implementing marketing strategies and campaigns, through both print and digital channels.

Ian Price, Tomlinson Hall

Billingham-based pump manufacturer and distributor Tomlinson Hall has appointed a new area sales manager to help expand its national presence.

Ian Price will be responsible for building up new sales for Tomlinson Hall to drive business growth in the south of England.

Ian will be responsible for promoting a range of pumps distributed by Tomlinson Hall, including CRANE ChemPharma & Energy’s DEPA range of air operated diaphragm pumps, stainless steel hygienic pumps, high pressure pumps and powder pumps, and CRANE’s ELRO range, which features static and mobile peristaltic pumps.

A joint-founding member of the Pump Distributors Association, Tomlinson Hall offers a total service to industry – including pump selection and supply, site visits, problem solving, servicing and repairs.

Founded on Teesside in 1919, Tomlinson Hall also manufactures its own innovative liquid ring vacuum pump, Liquivac, which can perform operations across industries including seawater extraction, land remediation, chemical processing, food and drink processing and utilities.

Ian, who holds a BEng Mechanical Engineering and Agriculture from Harper Adams University College, has vast experience of working in Tomlinson Hall’s core sectors, which include chemical processing, food and beverage, energy, petrochemical and water treatment.

Commenting on his new role, Ian Price said: “As a manufacturer as well as distributor, Tomlinson Hall can understand technical challenges from a manufacturer’s perspective; it is qualities like this which make it renowned for the service and expertise it provides end users, and I am therefore delighted to be joining the team.

Bradley Hall

North East chartered surveyors and estate agents Bradley Hall is further expanding its most recently launched department with new appointments.

The company announced the launch of its specialist building surveying service, in February 2017, alongside the appointment of associate director Henry Scott.

Following the launch, the department has recently welcomed experienced building surveyor Ricki Hutchinson to the team, which is based at the company’s head office in Hood Street, Newcastle.

Ricki, 32, from Gateshead, has 16 years of experience in the construction and surveying industry, including work on commercial and residential projects with a value of over £11m.

His appointment at Bradley Hall follows a successful career within Newcastle University Estate Support Services where he gained experience in project and facility management and statutory compliance.

Bradley Hall and parent company BH Group lead director Neil Hart said: “I am delighted with the success of the building surveying service which was introduced only a short time ago.

“Henry was a fantastic addition to the senior Bradley Hall team and he has proven to be an excellent head of service since joining us in February.

“Ricki’s appointment will allow us to offer even more building surveying services and further strengthen the department, which will in turn support the overall growth strategy for Bradley Hall.”

Publicity Seekers

North East public relations agency Publicity Seekers has welcomed Michael Lamb as Business Development Director and Alice Midgley as PR Assistant.

Michael recently returned to the North East after spending the last 12 years working with some of the leading tech brands in London, including Microsoft, Sony and Canon.

Michael and Alice will primarily be working on the PR agency’s newly developed communications audit, a project that aims to help businesses uncover client insights, provide competitor analysis and identify current industry issues.
