Jet Aire is finalist in Going the Extra Mile Awards

Leeds-based drainage contractor, Jet Aire Services, was one of a select number of companies nominated as a finalist in Northumbrian Water Group’s Going the Extra Mile (GEM) Awards 2017, held this month at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Durham.

Jet Aire was shortlisted in the ‘Customer Focused’ category, which identifies Northumbrian Water Group suppliers who consistently show outstanding levels of customer service, putting the customer first while delivering excellent outcomes. The nomination was awarded in recognition of Jet Aire’s work on an ongoing 10-year contract which commenced in July 2015. Carried out in partnership with Seymour Civil Engineering, the contract is very customer-focused and involves dealing with members of the public on a day-to-day basis. The work is 24/7 and very demanding, often dealing with difficult access and working conditions.

Northumbrian Water Group have a clear vision to be the national leader in the provision of sustainable water and waste water services. They recognise that, along with their own employees, the supply chain plays a crucial role in helping them to achieve this vision. Northumbrian Water Group spend approximately £400m per annum with their supply chain and it is vital that they work with suppliers who share their drive for excellence while delivering outstanding customer service. To help create an environment where suppliers feel valued and are driven to deliver outstanding service, the GEM Awards promote, highlight and celebrate the crucial role that suppliers play in the success of the business.

Jet Aire Services Managing Director, Charlie Kirk, said: “Jet Aire were thrilled to be shortlisted for this Customer Focused award which is excellent recognition of the hard work of our team, both in the office and in the field. The award highlights the importance we attach to delivering a first-class service and demonstrates an effective partnership with Seymour Civil Engineering and Northumbrian Water. The hard work and strength of this partnership has resulted in Northumbrian Water receiving a record customer satisfaction score.”
