Newcastle IT firm Atlas Cloud to create new jobs following expansion
Computer support provider Atlas Cloud has expanded to larger offices in Newcastle city centre and has vowed to imminently grow its workforce.
The company, which specialises in delivering cloud based scalable IT solutions for ambitious businesses across the UK, allows users to work collaboratively, anywhere, anytime, in real time.
The Atlas Cloud team moved to Metnor-managed Generator Studios on Trafalgar Street, NE1, from their former base in Collingwood Street. Generator is already home to a number of successful creative and tech companies including Hedgehog Lab, Gardiner Richardson and Fuse.
The move to the first floor, open-plan workspace heralds a new phase of growth for the company, as it continues to build its core portfolio of SME clients with 50-250 employees, often based across multiple sites, including Metnor and O’Brien’s Waste Recycling Solutions.
And whilst ambitious and growing SMEs remain the core customer base for Atlas Cloud, the company has also landed a string of national PLC account wins, including software giant Sage, credit-scoring experts Experian, construction and property leader Kier and waste management specialists, Biffa.
Chief Executive, Pete Watson, said of the move: “We’ve settled in well to our new base at Generator Studios.
“Like many of our customers, we’re a forward-thinking, modern tech company and we wanted a workspace that reflects this.
“Although we provide cloud-based, managed IT services to any size of enterprise, many of the businesses located here at Generator reflect our core base of SME customers with a clear need to work collaboratively, but often remotely.
“Our virtual desktop IT solutions allow them to do this easily on any device, giving the freedom to work anywhere, anytime, safe in the knowledge that their data is safe to the ISO 27001.2013 standards expected by our government and FSA regulated clients.
“We recognised many years ago that modern companies needed a new solution to their IT which didn’t involve expensive, cumbersome servers. IT is not something management teams want to spend a lot of time worrying about, or for that matter, continually investing in.
“They want their IT to work hard in the background, safe in the knowledge that their data is secure and their employees can get on with the day job quickly and easily.
“We also know from experience that ambitious businesses want to be able to grow quickly and easily without worrying that their IT solution won’t be able to keep up.
“Our systems are totally scalable without the need to buy new hardware and because we operate a subscription based model, it doesn’t mean any capital investment – you can build up your IT as your business grows.
“The new workspace allows us room to grow in the North East region. We recognise that an inspiring working environment is important to our staff and our clients, as well as being close to the thriving city centre and all its amenities.
“We plan to expand our workforce imminently and built our team beyond 60 members of staff, as we begin to scale up on the back of a range of significant new contract wins. In particular we’re looking to recruit 10 Technical Consultants to help us implement our recent successes.”
