Events specialist hired at The Venue to bolster corporate team

An events specialist who has worked at some of the most prestigious hotels and restaurants in the Liverpool City Region has joined the wedding and corporate team at The Venue.

Faye Connor, 27, has taken up the role of Sales and Events Manager at the company inside the iconic Royal Liver Building on Liverpool’s majestic waterfront.

She has been appointed after working for six years in the hospitality industry for some established hotels and restaurants in Wirral and Cheshire.

Faye began her career after graduating from Sheffield Hallam University at Inglewood Manor, a Grade II listed four star hotel in Cheshire, where she stayed for three years and became Assistant General Manager.

Following her position at Inglewood Manor, Faye then became assistant manager of the fine dining restaurant The Lawns at Thornton Hall Hotel.

She then moved from hospitality and catering to events and sales at Sheldrakes in Heswall, Wirral, where she worked for three years before joining Karen Yates and Becky Kennedy in the team at The Venue.

Faye said: “Working in the wedding industry and with corporate clients is the next step in my career and I had heard extremely positive comments from acquaintances and friends who had worked with The Venue, or been to an event here.

“And who doesn’t want to work in the Royal Liver Buildings? It’s a magnificent setting and the look on our clients faces when they see the Bella Ballroom or Bertie suites, and our balcony, is a real lift unlike any other place I have worked.

“I am very happy to be working with Karen and Becky, we are now a close knit team and it’s a delight to be able to work at The Venue.”

The unique events space inside the iconic building, one of the Three Graces on the city’s historic waterfront, hosts private events, weddings, corporate and networking events, Christmas and shared party nights.

Last year, The Venue saw a 103 per cent rise in the number of events held at the contemporary space, with weddings remaining the most popular events held.

Corporate events have also seen a significant uplift with a 63 per cent increase. High profile clients include The Guardian, Liverpool City Council, BBC, Lloyds Banking, Liverpool and Everton Football Club and Matchroom Sport, as well as a major business delegation visiting the city from Qiandongnan, China.

Karen Yates, Regional Sales Manager from The Venue, said: “Faye has a wealth of expertise that she brings to the team to ensure our offering to any type of clients is of an exceptionally high standard.

“We are very pleased she has chosen The Venue to further her career and continue our excellent growth, which has seen more high profile clients such as Specsavers, Nina Ricci Perfume, the British Dental Association and Liverpool Women’s Hospital hold their events here.

“We already have a busy Christmas and New Year party season approaching and are looking forward to another successful year in 2018.”
