United Carlton Golf Day Is Driver For Change

Changing Lives has received a £3,000 donation from the annual United Carlton golf day at Close House, venue for the 2017 British Masters.

United Carlton’s theme for the golf day was ‘Best of British’, with guests being welcomed to the course by a collection of classic cars and a traditional London double-decker! Golfers got in the spirit of the day by donning their red, white, and blues, before heading to the grand 18-hole golf course to ‘putt’ their skills to the test. Along the way, they had the opportunity to win extra shots and compete against a professional golfer, with all the money raised going towards helping Changing Lives.

Stephen Bell OBE, Chief Executive of Changing Lives, attended the golf day and was overwhelmed by the support and generosity shown by his fellow golfers. He said:

“We’d like to say a huge thank you to United Carlton, and all of the golfers who have turned out for the event.

“The day has been fantastically organised and great fun, with it all being for a good cause too. The money raised by the golf day will make a huge difference to our life-changing services across the country.”

Following the 18-hole course, guests were invited to a three-course meal at the clubhouse of Close House, which included a charity auction for an enviable prize. Golfers bid against each other in the hopes of bagging the ultimate British classic car – an Aston Martin – for a full weekend, with proceeds again going to Changing Lives.

John Watson, United Carlton Managing Director, said:

“United Carlton were delighted to offer our support to Changing Lives at our 2017 Golf Day. We have been impressed by the dedication of everyone involved at Changing Lives to literally change people’s lives for the better.”
