Dive into exciting new business competition at Ashton Old Baths

Tameside’s most innovative working space is launching an exciting new business competition this week to identify 12 aspiring entrepreneurs who want to build and grow a fantastic local digital or creative business

Finding this elite Digital Dozen is the number one priority for the team at Ashton Old Baths who are inviting businesses with great creative, digital or media business ideas to get in touch.

Those wanting to make a big splash simply need to go on the Ashton Old Baths website to download an application form and within 30 minutes could be in the fast lane for business growth.

To be one of the Digital Dozen you have to be resident in Tameside or have your business based in the area, be ambitious for yourself and the firm and have a strong product or service in the digital, creative or media sector with a defined customer.

Ashton Old Baths Centre Manager Claire Kellett said they had already started receiving entries. She said: “Tameside has a growing digital and innovation community and we want them to have a look at this competition and get involved.

She added: “This is a unique space, already providing super collaboration opportunities for existing tenants – and would make the best launch pad for a local entrepreneur with a bright idea.”

Digital Dozen winners will get a dedicated desk within co-working space on the ground floor of AOB – enabling lots of interaction from like-minded neighbours – and a whole range of high quality tailored support.

This includes one on one mentoring and access to an Innovation Director one day a fortnight, providing diagnostics around business and entrepreneurship capabilities and needs.

Also covered are a range of workshops on specific growth topics – finance, business planning, marketing and HR – as well as social events to help build a community of supportive peers, suppliers and advocates and maybe even customers.

Inspirational business events will also be on the doorstep with an expert speaker series at AOB itself and access to others run by partner organisations like Manchester’s Business Growth Hub and Tameside MBC’s business support programmes.

The Digital Dozen programme is being promoted online and via social media, PR and partner events across Tameside.

The call for nominations starts this week and will run until Saturday 24th November when judges will decide who will be in the final 12 and on the programme from January 2018.
