Housebuilder helps youth team kick off new season in style

Youngsters at Hamble Colts FC have a fresh new look for the season ahead thanks to local housebuilder, Barratt Homes.

The company, which is working hard to create new homes down the road in Bursledon, has sponsored the under 16s team and kitted the players out with brand-new new gear.

“We are always keen to support local clubs in the communities where we are building new homes,” said Barratt Homes sales director Michelle Storer. “And with Hamble Colts playing just down the road from our new Monarchs Keep development in Bursledon, we’re delighted to be able to help out.

“The club is a not for profit organisation and every penny they raise goes straight back in to fund new equipment for the young players. We’re proud to be showing our support for such an important local sports resource.”

Hamble Colts club secretary Joanna Ford added: “We’re so grateful to Barratt Homes for its support. The team is in love with the new kit and we hope it’ll bring them plenty of luck in the current season.”

Hamble Colts has two youth teams – the under 11s and under 16s. The under 16s currently play in division two of the Southampton City League. It has 17 players in the squad, which plays at the Hamble 1st team pitch.
