Anthesis-managed sustainability app rolled-out to Central Europe and 10,000 strong Tesco supply-base
After proving to be a huge success in the UK, the Tesco Supplier Network app has now been rolled-out across Central Europe to reach a milestone 10,000 suppliers.
The bespoke app, developed and managed by Anthesis Group, was commissioned by Tesco to foster an online community supporting thousands of suppliers and producers. The aim of the engagement platform is to help drive sustainability, overcome challenges and inspire innovation through the formation of stronger relationships and collaboration across the whole supply base, spanning a range of sectors and geographies.
Initially launched for the UK network in April 2016, the app is now available in four Central European countries – Poland, Hungary, Slovakia and the Czech Republic – where suppliers can benefit from cross-country collaboration and the current best practices in sustainable development.
Suppliers using the app can read, watch and download resources from Tesco on issues such as energy use, food waste and innovation. The app provides suppliers with instant notifications on the latest supply insights and updates from industry. It also includes the option to sign up for webinars, site visits, and conferences, with inbuilt event reminders. For those working in the field, there is a feature to post questions straight to the Network.
The interactive platform, available as an online tool, via iOS or as an Android app, also allows the supplier network to share experiences and difficulties of sustainable production, exchange ideas, watch videos, take part in webinars and e-learning courses, and make direct use of on-hand sustainability experts. The in-built translation software on the app means content can be translated in to one of four central European languages, encouraging discussions, knowledge sharing and education on a global scale.
Andrew Noone, Associate Director at Anthesis, said: “Collaboration across supply chains is essential when it comes to driving innovation and sustainability.
“We are delighted to have had the opportunity to work with Tesco in deploying this app in Central Europe, and it’s fantastic to see Tesco, one of the world’s largest retailers, continuing to build on their leadership in supplier collaboration and engagement.”
