Amazon to create 1200 jobs at ‘huge operation’ in Bolton
E-commerce giant Amazon is bringing a big jobs boost to the North West.
The online retailer will open a new distribution facility near Bolton, creating around 1,200 jobs.
The centre will be based at the Logistics North scheme in Over Hulton, where developer Harworth Group plc is creating four million sq ft of new distribution and management space.
The new jobs are in addition to the 1,000 seasonal workers the firm is hiring at its depot in Manchester.
Bolton Council Leader Cllr Cliff Morris hailed the plans as “great news” for residents.
He commented: “It is fantastic that such a major company has decided to open such a huge operation in Bolton.
“We are absolutely delighted that this development will create at least 1,200 jobs for local people and those living in the surrounding area.”
