BT Dynamites 17 shortlist revealed

THE shortlist for the BT Dynamites 17, the region’s IT and technology awards, has been revealed.

The Dynamites Awards are now in their fourth year and still the region’s only IT and Technology awards. Organised by north east IT network Dynamo, they shine a spotlight on successful regional tech companies and recognise the talent within the north-east tech sector.

Many of the region’s leading IT and technology awards have made it on to the shortlist, as well as some of the north east’s largest businesses and organisations that have critical and innovative IT departments.

Stuart Lynn, Chief Product Delivery Office at Sage, and Vice Chair at Dynamo, is this year’s chair of judges: “We had an incredibly tough judging day and were all thoroughly impressed with the strength and depth of entries in to the BT Dynamites awards this year. We’re blessed with talent, ambition and innovation in the region’s IT and technology sector.

“The awards turn a deserved spotlight on to the sector and its growing importance to the region, and it’s right that we celebrate the talented companies and individuals that do so much to raise our profile as a digital hotspot of increasing importance in the UK.”

Tickets are selling fast for the awards which are being held at Newcastle’s Civic Centre banqueting hall on Thursday, October 19. The event will once again be hosted by Northumberland actor and director Daymon Britton. Tickets are priced at £89 + VAT each, or tables of 10 for £850 + VAT and are on sale now. Ticket price includes a sparkling drinks reception on arrival and a three-course meal with wine.

Simon Roberson, Regional Partnership Director of Dynamites 17 sponsors BT said: “The awards have become an important showcase for the sector’s achievements and a celebration of the tech talent in the region. As a judge, it’s great to see the standard of entries improves every year.”

Charlie Hoult, chair of Dynamo, added: “Dynamites is always a hugely enjoyable night and probably the best sector networking opportunity of the year. It’s all about bringing together those who help shape our tech scene for a night of celebration – we should be proud of our success and having so many successful digital and IT businesses who call the north east home.

“I’d like to thank the record number of entrants we’ve had for this year’s awards, and of course, our generous sponsors who make this great evening happen.”
