Glamourous ball marks silver anniversary of care organisation
A Hull and East Riding based care organisation has marked its 25th year by throwing a glamourous ball for hundreds of its residents.
The Hica Group, a not-for-profit organisation which runs 19 homes and two retirement villages across the area, held its annual Shine Ball at the Station Hotel, Hull. The event included a luxurious afternoon tea with entertainment for guests to enjoy.
Penni Brown, chief executive at Hica Group, took to the stage to reflect on the organisations achievements over the past 25 years, which was followed by a rousing happy birthday singalong.
She said: “This was a fantastic way to mark 25 years of the Hica Group. The organisation has come a long way since its launch and we look forward to continuing our success whilst continuously implementing new and innovative ways to maintain a high quality of life for our residents.
“The Shine Ball is always a fantastic event, and the residents look forward to it all year round. This event is only made possible by the fundraising efforts of our staff, residents, their families and the local community.
“It is important that we help residents to maintain a high quality of life by providing opportunities to attend social events on a regular basis. The Shine Ball is our biggest celebration event of the year and a highlight for all involved.”
The company also presented awards to dedicated employees, as well as the winners of its annual Hica in Bloom competition, in front of hundreds of guests during the Shine Ball.
The Hica Group operates a portfolio of 19 residential care homes, five of which are for people with a learning disability, along with two retirement villages. The company also runs a home care service providing approximately 11,500 hours of support and care from four regional offices in the North of England.
