York woman celebrates 50 years as a loyal customer of JCT600’s Volkswagen dealership

JCT600’s Volkswagen dealership in York last week (3rd October) welcomed loyal customer Karin Wilson with tea and cakes to celebrate her 50 years as a customer, during which time she has bought 16 vehicles!

Mrs Wilson, who now drives a Volkswagen Polo TSI R Line, first visited the York dealership in 1967 with her late husband to buy a Beetle 1200 for just £585! Since then the family has purchased a range of Volkswagen vehicles including another Beetle, three Golfs, 10 Polos and an Audi.

Mrs Wilson says that her love for Volkswagens started with her parents’ vehicle and she even passed her driving test in a VW Danbury Caravette Camper.

Andrew Exon, head of business at JCT600 Volkswagen York, commented: “When I first heard Mrs Wilson’s story I wanted to celebrate the milestone with her in some way. We invited her along to the showroom for a mini celebration of her 50 years with Volkswagen York. We hope she enjoyed her visit and hope to see her again very soon – although I’m almost certain we will.”

Mrs Wilson added: “A huge thank you for taking the time, effort and thought in setting up such a memorable celebration of my 50 years of Volkswagen cars. I really enjoyed it. Thank you and your team so much for the event and all the fabulous gifts. I will remember the afternoon for a long time to come - and so will the car.”
