Fulham's HaMuch is the new price comparison website for tradespeople

Some 120 tradespeople in Manchester are now part of a new home services price comparison site, aiming to shake up the sector.

HaMuch.com, based in Fulham, is a new company devised by established entrepreneur Tarquin Purdie and backed by sponsorship from numerous components and supplies businesses used by plumbers and electricians.

The new site lists more than 10k tradespeople across the country, including many in Manchester and surrounding areas and, unlike other websites, includes prices per hour and per day upfront.

Tarquin Purdie, founder of HaMuch.com, said: “People deserve to have a transparent and efficient way to find tradespeople.

“Older websites that have dominated the market for years do not one of the most important pieces of information; the price of a job. HaMuch is now addressing this issue. Existing portals have been challenger companies in their time, but they have quickly become the establishment and need a new competitor to move the process forward.

“Finding a tradesperson should be as straightforward as booking a flight or a train, and there is no reason why full transparency can’t be the industry standard. It is vital that the experience is as seamless as possible for everyone involved.”

It also contains a feature allowing customers to make contact with the tradesperson, through the website to check availability without making an appointment or commitment.

Tarquin Purdie has become established in the sector through his respected marketing business Tiger Data, which provides communication between manufacturers and tradespeople who use their products.

He has provided the know-how and a significant slice of the launch investment. He has also teamed up with leading component businesses, including Danfoss, Drayton, Franke, and Grundfos, which want to add value to their relationship with tradespeople by providing them with a portal to secure work and communicate with customers.
