Tolent Makes Successful Transition to ISO 9001:2015

Tolent is pleased to announce, following a comprehensive audit, the company’s quality management system has successfully transitioned to the 2015 standard. ISO 9001:2015 builds upon its predecessor with key improvements covering: leadership, planning, support and performance evaluation.

ISO 9001:2015 ensures robust procedures are in place across all business areas. Processes are defined and consistent across the organisation and subject to continuous internal audit to ensure their successful application. Processes and outcomes are regularly reviewed by a central quality assurance team to allow the early identification of defects and non-conformances whilst facilitating continuous improvement across the business.

The certification adds to our growing suite of certified management systems with the organisation now fully-certified to ISO 9001 (quality management), ISO 14001 (environmental management), ISO 50001 (energy management) and OHSAS 18001 (health & safety management).

Colin Bloomfield, Director of Quality Assurance at Tolent said:

“We are extremely pleased to have transitioned to the new standard showing we are at the forefront of quality assurance. The certification helps us to successfully manage our business but is also a key consideration for our customers as certification provides assurance that we are consistently reliable in our production process, as-well-as actively-improving what we do to create a better customer experience.”

Certification was presented by NQA, a leading third party UKAS accredited provider of certification services having issued in excess of 36,000 certificates to clients in over 70 countries. During the presentation ceremony auditors visited our Gateshead office as-well-as a selection of live construction projects including the Beacon of Light in Sunderland which is due for completion in 2018.

On completion, The Beacon of Light will be a vibrant and exciting education and sporting facility located adjacent to the city’s famous Stadium of Light football ground. The centre is the first of its kind in the UK and will include engaging and interactive zones for education, health and fitness, as-well-as sport.

Laura Cottom, Commercial Director at NQA said:

“We are delighted to have supported Tolent throughout not only this transition period to the 2015 standard, but on their on-going journey of increasing quality. Certification in quality management systems requires strong leadership and a clear commitment to linking strategy with business processes as well as continuous improvement. This ISO 9001:2015 certification joins Tolent’s other management systems certification with NQA for ISO 14001 (Environmental) and OHSAS 18001 (Health and Safety) showing clear commitment and dedication to continuous improvement right across the organisation. This is a fantastic achievement!”
