Restaurateur makes waves with first solo venture in Preston
A new fish and chips restaurant has arrived at St George’s Shopping Centre in Preston.
Based on the ground floor of the retail complex, in the central rotunda area, the eatery has seating space for 40 customers.
Oceans Fish and Chips was founded by Victoria Yu, whose family owns Ribble Valley Chinese restaurant Yu & You.
Victoria said: “I’ve spent years working for my family restaurant I’m no stranger to the fast-paced world of food service.
“Oceans is my first solo venture so it’s great to be joining the network of shops in St George’s.”
She added: We’re looking forward to providing quality, environmentally conscientious food to Preston.“
The unit, located next to Burger King, underwent a complete refit prior to Oceans moving in.
The general manager at St George’s Shopping Centre, Andrew Stringer, commented: “We have a strong mix of food retailers in the centre and Oceans, offering the nation’s favourite – fish and chips, will prove to be a huge success.
“As an integral part of Preston’s shopping community, it’s important to us that we do all we can to support local, independent businesses.”
He added: “By welcoming Oceans to the centre, we strengthen our food offering and give support to local produce suppliers.”
