Youngsters invited to name new Telford Centre mascot

Shoppers in Telford are being asked to help come up with a name for their new kid’s club mascot this half term weekend.

The Telford Centre will launch the brand new Leapfrog Club on Saturday 21st October, and is asking for help to name the colourful character.

A host of activities and entertainment have been lined up, as the Centre seeks to launch the Leapfrog Club, with frog themed activities including frog peg puppets, frog masks, pom pom character making and cupcake decorating as part of the make-and-take zone as well as ‘lily pad bumps’, ‘frog hop scotch’ and ‘frog yoga’.

Activities will take place in Wyre Hall by Next and Sports Direct.

Members will also be greeted with a visit from the Leapfrog Club mascot, from 11am to 4pm.

Katie Broome, marketing manager at The Telford Centre said: “The Leapfrog Club will take place from 11am to 4pm on the fourth weekend of every month and is completely free to members.

“The centre is committed to delivering an exciting and memorable shopping experience for visitors of all ages, and the Leapfrog Club is a fantastic opportunity for young shoppers to come together for a weekend of fun.

“Activities will be hosted throughout the year and during the school holidays; from arts and crafts to face painting and storytelling, there’s plenty to keep little ones entertained whilst making new friends.

“We are asking shoppers to help us name our frog mascot, and we can’t wait to hear all of the suggestions from customers.”

The Leapfrog Club is dedicated to children aged between three and eight years, and provides the perfect opportunity for little ones to take part in supervised events.

The friendly character will be making regular appearances at the centre, and young shoppers are now being asked to help give the frog a name.

The competition will take place in the centre on Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd October and youngsters are invited to complete an entry form with their suggestion.

The person who comes up with the best name will win a £25 voucher to spend at The Centre along with a Leapfrog Club prize pack from The Entertainer.

The Leapfrog Club is free for shoppers to join, members will receive a free welcome pack and membership pass which gives shoppers access to a wide range of exclusive retailer offers and competitions as well as being the first to know about upcoming events at the centre.
