Why businesses in the North East should broker the returns of entering the FSB Awards

Small businesses and the self-employed in the North East region are being encouraged to enter the FSB Celebrating Small Business Awards 2018, before the deadline of 10 November.

The North East region proudly boasts over 67,000 small businesses which make a vast contribution to both regional and national economies.

The FSB awards are free for businesses to enter as many of the 12 categories they wish as FSB’s aim is to help businesses achieve their ambitions.

Entering credible business awards is becoming an ever increasingly valued part of successful business plans because winning, or even just being shortlisted for, a reputable business award can pay huge dividends at little or no cost. The benefits range from brand credibility and media exposure to customer loyalty and staff retention.

Ted Salmon, FSB Regional Chairman for the North East England Region, said: “For a chance to be recognised as the best small business in the North East, as well as in the whole UK, I’d encourage all small businesses to enter the FSB Celebrating Small Business Awards. SMEs are a vital part of the North East – contributing so much to the economy and making our region a more exciting place in which to live, work, study and visit.”

North East area winners will be announced at an award ceremony in January and will then go forward to the national UK FSB Celebrating Small Business Awards final, where the overall FSB UK Small Business of the Year 2018 will be announced, in May 2018.

The 12 FSB Celebrating Small Business Awards categories are:

  • Business Exporter of the Year
