Greater Thames Valley leaders hail success at MIPIMUK
A delegation of representatives from the Greater Thames Valley have marked another successful year showcasing the region’s assets at the UK’s biggest property conference- MIPIMUK, in London.
Key highlights from the event include an MOU that was signed between Northern Powerhouse and Local Growth Minister Jake Berry and Nigel Tipple, Chief Executive of Oxfordshire LEP, to boost the Didcot Growth Accelerator Enterprise Zone, in South Oxfordshire.
The agreement complements Didcot’s existing Enterprise Zone and will cover 200 hectares, helping to streamline the planning process and encourage occupier growth through various financial incentives.
A 30-strong delegation of property investors from China also visited the stand during the event on October, 18 and 19, to explore investment opportunities in the Greater Thames Valley, which is the UK’s most productive region outside London.
The delegation, led by UK Property Forums, comprised of Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) partners representing Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Enterprise M3, Oxfordshire, Solent and Swindon&Wiltshire alongside Basingstoke and Dean Borough Council, political and stakeholder engagement consultancy Development Communications, and property management software company Locale.
Matthew Battle, managing director of UK Property Forums, said: “The Greater Thames Valley region is continuing to go from strength to strength and we were thrilled to have the opportunity to showcase the region’s incredibly strong offer and highlight its key regeneration and development schemes.
“MIPIMUK presents a fantastic platform for partners to form new connections and explore potential collaborations and investment opportunities. We welcomed investors from around the world to the GTV stand, including a large delegation from China, while the signing of the Didcot Growth Accelerator Enterprise Zone MOU was a significant highlight and a step forward in our drive to boost investment into the region.”
