Knight Frank cycles to glory

In a grand collective effort by Knight Frank’s offices across the country as its Day of Giving Cycle Challenge to raise funds for LandAid, Maggie’s, Mary’s Meals and the Rainbow Trust Children’s Charity, over 10,000 miles were pedalled raising over £140,000.

Statistics gathered by Adam Greenwood in Knight Frank’s Newcastle office says of the 15 office members six cycled the whole 125 miles from Quayside to the centre of Edinburgh and the Knight Frank office in Queen Street.

“The remainder of the office took on various distances between here and Edinburgh, with 15 of us rolling into Edinburgh 13 hours after we set off at 6.30am on the Thursday morning,” says Mr Greenwood.

“The accumulative distance covered by the Newcastle office members was approximately 1,150 miles – the distance from here to Lisbon as the crow flies and the elevation gain was approximately 64,000 ft or 2.2 times the height of Everest. This was a spectacular effort by all.”

En-route there was support for the effort with, for example, Northumberland Estates providing breakfast in Alnwick castle as well as have broom-flying practice a la Harry Potter, perhaps an altogether easier and faster way to travel to Edinburgh.
