The Old Vinyl Factory in Hayes welcomes its first company with a major relaunch

Regeneration company, U+I has announced that Aspect is the first company to take space in the newly launched Record Store at The Old Vinyl Factory in Hayes.

Aspect, an IT software services company, will take the 10,500 sq ft ground floor of the building. The building was previously the home of EMI and His Master’s Voice headquarters. Its launch was celebrated last month with a themed party to commemorate the site’s history.

The art-deco Record Store, owned jointly by U+I and a controlled affiliate of funds managed by Colony NorthStar Inc, was originally designed by Wallis, Gilbert and Partners, who are also known for designs including the Hoover Building and Victoria Coach Station.

Stephen Ball, SVP sales Europe and Africa, of Aspect, said: “We’re incredibly excited to be moving into the Record Store - it’s a space with a rich cultural heritage, and the refurbishment reflects that history and also meets the needs of modern business.

“Our focus is on adapting our own office space to the delightful architecture of the building, maintaining our brand and market leading position in the customer contact space while drawing on the building’s unique qualities. We can’t wait for our employees to begin working in this dynamic space.”

The building is where every EMI album was pressed, including iconic ones from The Beatles and The Rolling Stones. The building’s vast open-plan factory floors have now been remastered into 84,000 sq ft of high-end office space by architects, Allford Hall Monaghan Morris (AHMM).

Each of the Record Store’s six storeys has flexible floor plates of up to 15,000 sq ft, offering floor to ceiling heights of over 3.5 metres. The building’s iconic large factory window’s benefit from extensive natural light with views across The Old Vinyl Factory and Heathrow.

The Record Store is situated at The Old Vinyl Factory, and Hayes and Harlington station is a seven-minute walk away, where visitors are able to travel to London Paddington in under 20 minutes.

In 2019, the Elizabeth line (Crossrail) will make the journey from Hayes to Tottenham Court Road possible in 22 minutes, and Heathrow in five minutes.
