49,000 sq ft Manchester scheme sold to Yorkshire developer
An office building occupying 1.3 acres in Manchester has been sold to a Yorkshire-based developer.
Property firm Cushman & Wakefield sold 1 City Road to Huddersfield’s Marshall CDP, on behalf of an institutional seller, for an undisclosed sum.
The glass-front building comprises 49,000 sq ft and is located next to the First Street development on one of the main arterial routes through Manchester.
Firms currently based at 1 City Road include Russian energy firm Gazprom, accountants Kay Johnson Gee and First People Housing Association.
Cushman & Wakefield associate Rob Prescott advised on the deal.
He said: “Following the delivery of high quality office space and associated amenities at First Street, the immediate environment has improved dramatically.
“As a result occupation demand has increased and we have been very successful leasing the vacant accommodation.”
He added: “1 City Road is now largely occupied. CDP were appreciative of these facts and performed quickly to secure the opportunity.”
