FEG Ltd is hiring engineers at its new Washington base
Engineering consultancy FEG Ltd is preparing to grow its team and target national opportunities after expanding into a new base in Sunderland.
The £1m-plus turnover firm has invested in a new site, located on Tower Road in Washington, that is 7.5 times larger than its former home on Gateshead’s Team Valley Trading Estate.
FEG, a provider of design and build, project management and consultancy services, now plans to increase its workforce to 12 with the addition of new engineers.
While its customer base spans industries including food & drink, energy, oil & gas and chemicals, food and nuclear represent the company’s two biggest markets.
Over the next 12 months, FEG will aim to increase its foothold in the pharmaceutical, paper and automotive industries, while maintaining growth in its existing markets.
The business investment team at Sunderland City Council provided FEG with advice and support in its move to Washington.
Chris Williams, managing director and founder of FEG, said: “The investment in our new offices, continual training of our skilled staff and our accreditations, including the ISO9001: 2015 quality standard, ensure we have set the foundations for growth.
“Sunderland’s business investment team has been a great help to us during our move, and since.”
Cllr Harry Trueman, Deputy Leader of Sunderland City Council, commented: “FEG is an innovative firm with a bright future.
“It is also the latest in a long line of ambitious businesses to join the knowledge economy that is currently flourishing in Sunderland and its surrounding areas.”
He added: “We look forward to supporting it further as it continues to grow.”
