Expend heightens fintech presence with Xero partnership

A growing company in London’s fintech scene, Expend, has announced its next round of funding in automating expenses.

Expend launched its Xero partnership and real-time integration at the annual Xerocon London 2017 this month. Xero had over 1,200 attendees at this event at the ExCel centre, with Expend recording over 300 people to its stand over two days.

A growing number of companies are joining Expend’s beta for multi-user management and new Android app, along wih thousands of iOS users already using Expend and its Mastercard solution to keep track of expenses.

Johnny Vowles, co-founder and CEO of Expend, said: “We’ve learned a huge amount from our iOS users and through working with strategic partners such as Xero, accounting partners, and carefully selected businesses, we are now ready to launch a number of new features.

“The Xero partnership has come at a significant time for Expend with the launch of these new complimentary features. [We] continue to solve accounting issues for the masses with innovative approach and our partnership with Xero, [and] are now able to take expenses management solutions to a level and speed not seen before.”

When Expend is synced with Xero, this real-time solution offers an integration that gives companies real-time insight into company spending.

Expend’s multi-user dashboard also allows companies to invite new team members, view team transactions and lock cards to reduce errors and fraud, whilst providing the fluid movement of funds between teams and cards in seconds.

Edward Berks, director of sales, banking, fintech and ecosystem at Xero, commented: “Our new partnership with Expend provides Xero customers and their accountants with a creative solution for managing company spending.

“The real-time integration it enables frees up valuable time that can be spent on growing the business rather than processing expenses.”

Ahead of the next funding round, Vowles added: “Given the recent success and surge of interest in our class-leading expenses management solution, we’re excited to announce our next round of funding.

“The objective is to capitalise further on recent advances, fuel our continuing growth and cement our proud position amongst the leaders in UK fintech scene.”

Expend aims to simplify company spending. Following the company’s success in making expenses easy for freelancers and sole traders on iOS, Expend now offers enhanced expense management capabilities to companies, accountant and bookkeepers via a suite of a multi-user management dashboard, plus Android and iOS apps.
