NEW PARTNERSHIP TO SUPPORT THE HEALTH AND WELLBEING OF AUTOMOTIVE STAFF

A leading provider of independent medical services and an automotive manufacturer have partnered to launch a new initiative which is set to improve the health and wellbeing of employees.

North East-based Newcastle Premier Health will be delivering a range of onsite occupational health services to international automotive components manufacturer Calsonic Kansei UK.

In line with the company’s aim to continually support and educate staff on all aspects of physical and mental health and wellbeing, Calsonic Kansei UK employees at both the Washington and Sunderland facilities will gain access to services including ill health prevention and physiotherapy.

Newcastle Premier Health will also provide Calsonic Kansei UK with an absence management service which aims to reduce absence due to ill health. Individuals who are referred to the occupational health service will receive expert advice and intervention to facilitate a return to work – and if required will receive further support or phased rehabilitation.

Emma McCullagh, recently appointed as occupational health adviser at Newcastle Premier Health, will be responsible for delivering the health care package onsite at Calsonic Kansei UK. With an extensive medical background, Emma’s experience includes disability analysis at the Centre for Health and Disability, and multiple positions of responsibility across staff nursing roles.

The partnership comes at a time of rapid growth for Newcastle Premier Health which has recently launched repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (rTMS), an innovative new treatment for depression, in conjunction with The London Psychiatry Centre of Harley Street, London. The treatment has been approved by The National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) and fully endorsed by the Care Quality Commission (CQC). Newcastle Premier Health will be able to offer exclusive evidence based treatment protocols to all clients, based on the pioneering work by The London Psychiatry Centre, which consistently delivers results for patients.

To accommodate its service expansion the healthcare specialist has also moved to a larger, purpose-built facility in Dobson House, Regent Centre in Gosforth, Newcastle and has expanded its team with new appointments across the company, including an occupational health technician, travel /clinic nurse and mental health nurse
