10 reasons why you should book your 2018 holiday now…

If like me, it seems a long time since your last holiday and your next one can’t come fast enough then I have the best antidote to cure those holiday blues.

Most people only start to think of booking next year’s holiday after the Christmas break when everyman and his dog is doing the same. So why not break a habit of a lifetime and start planning now, do your research and importantly book well before the festive break.

So, this year follow my top 10 tips to deliver the perfect holiday and importantly save money whilst securing a great deal for you and your family.

1. Guarantee your perfect holiday

We all need to relax to recharge our batteries so once you have decided where you want to go - book it and look forward to your well-earned break. Delaying that decision could mean having to accept second best and missing out on your ideal break.

2. Secure the best choice of accommodation

We all work hard so we should not compromise on where we stay. But if you have specific needs such as a 4-star family hotel on the beach with a kid’s club then reserve your room now when nobody else is clamouring for one. Remember that if you must travel over school holidays then hotels will fill up quickly and prices will only rise.

3. Lock in the cost of your flight

Low cost airlines (and even the traditional scheduled airlines) all now follow the book early for the lowest deal. So, take advantage of their lowest fares - they won’t be there for long. Meanwhile don’t forget to keep your eyes peeled and look out for special discount offers - register with the airlines online to receive the heads up on their best deals.

4. Take full advantage of early booking offers and discounts

There are now a plethora of ways in which operators encourage you to book early, for example cruise companies look to fill cabins early so watch out for complimentary cabin upgrades offers, on board spend and drinks packages.

5. Book with a low deposit

To encourage early bookers a wide range of tour operators offer deposits as low as £49 – it’s a small price to pay to secure your chosen holiday and will help you to budget and spread the cost of your trip over the next 6 months.

6. Plan and book your in-resort activities

An increasing number of holidaymakers want to go to festivals, fiestas and special events like the Grand Prix. The early booker can secure their special trip at the lowest possible cost guaranteeing their position at the start line!

7. Find lower car hire deals

Hiring a car on holiday is a must if you fancy exploring and having the freedom on a fly drive package. The cheapest deals are normally found if you book early and at the same time you are more likely to find a vehicle that specifically meets your need.

8. Secure the most convenient flights

Flying when you want to go and at your preferred time from your local airport is at the top of most holidaymakers wish list. The early bird will have the widest choice of flights and can even prebook the best seats on the aircraft!

9. Looking for somewhere new and exciting?

There could be significant demand for your chosen exciting location as initially many tour operators will launch a small programme to initially test market demand. Book early to keep ahead of the Jones’.

10. Choosing that perfect location

Finally if you are looking for that idyllic sea view, a villa that provides a secluded location or accommodation that offers that touch of luxury you should never delay securing that perfect spot - you will not regret it!

So, don’t just think about your next summer holiday but as the nights draw in and the weather turns wintry do your research and enjoy searching and booking your perfect vacation. ‘Happy Holidays’
