Young property entrepreneur in Darwen to build 1000 homes by 2025
A housing developer in Lancashire is embarking on a mission to build 1,000 new homes over the next eight years.
Since it was founded in 2012, Berkshire Homes has built 200 properties ranging from apartments to four-bedroom houses across the North West and Wales.
The company is led by 23-year-old Harrison Kiely, who now plans to expand the business around the UK as he looks to deliver 1,000 homes by 2025.
With a pipeline of more than 150 properties in 2018, the firm is currently on site at residential schemes in Bradford, Lancaster and Rossendale.
Berkshire Homes’ recent work includes the transformation of the formerly derelict Holme Hall Manor in Cliviger, bought at auction in 2014, into 10 modern apartments.
Discussing the development, Harrison said: “Holme Hall Manor boasted a lot of history and several other developers had bought the site in the past but failed to begin the lengthy process of bringing it back to life.
“It was important that we sensitively rebuilt and modernised areas of the building so that it didn’t lose any of its charm. It’s my favourite development to date.”
Berkshire Homes is headquartered in Darwen and employs a team of seven full-time staff.
