Dobson & Parnell celebrates first anniversary and Michelin Guide 2018 listing
Newcastle’s Dobson & Parnell are celebrating their success this month after being listed in the Michelin Guide 2018.
Guests will be treated to a complimentary glass of fizz on Wednesday 29 November, which also marks the restaurant’s first anniversary.
Owner of Hooked-on Group, Andy Hook, teamed up with chef patron Troy Terrington to open the British and European cuisine restaurant on Newcastle’s Quayside in November 2016.
The restaurant is the third in Hooked-on Group’s portfolio alongside Blackfriars Restaurant in Newcastle and Hinnies Restaurant in Whitley Bay.
Seating 65 people and creating 20 new jobs when it opened last year, Dobson & Parnell prides itself on dishes that feature ethically-sourced local, seasonal produce direct from nearby farms and markets.
Each year’s Michelin Guide features recommendations based on a team of national inspectors scouring the country for restaurants offering fresh, seasonal ingredients, an innovative cooking style and fantastic service.
Securing a place in the guide less than a year after opening, Dobson & Parnell’s listing states: “An iconic address in the city, this elegant restaurant is named after Victorian architects John Dobson and William Parnell. Cooking has a Nordic style, with plenty of drying, pickling and curing. Dishes are colourful and satisfying.”
Troy Terrington, Chef Patron, said: “We’re delighted to be listed in the Michelin Guide 2018 so soon after opening. It’s been a great first year and we can’t wait to celebrate with our guests by popping the fizz on 29 November.
“We love being based on the Quayside, which has become such a thriving hub of bars and restaurants. One year on, we feel like we’re making our mark here.
“We’ve introduced regular events such as Bring Your Best Wine Evenings, Seafood and Whisky Nights and Wine Dinners, which are proving to be really popular. We have plenty of exciting plans in the pipeline for next year, so here’s to 2018!”
Bookings can be made for Wednesday 29 November by calling 0191 221 0904.
